A Malfunctioning Water Tank Can Disrupt Your Home Water System

If you’re a homeowner without city-regulated water services, then you need a well water pump system to access water for your family. This process starts with a jet or submersible well water pump that vacuums water into a reservoir tank inside the home. This pressurized tank is full of compressed air to manage the water pressure throughout the entire house. When water levels become low, it signals the pump to deliver more water into the tank. A malfunctioning or leaking water tank can cause a lot of problems if it’s not repaired promptly. For both homes and businesses, downtime for repairs or replacement can be costly.

Thankfully, Arizona Pump Services, Inc. can streamline the process. Our experience with water well systems will help us deliver a water tank solution that is the perfect fit for your situation. When you work with us, you will have expertly installed, long-lasting equipment for a reliable water supply.

Determining the Right Water Tank to Install

Different water supply situations require different equipment. We supply and install the three major types of well water system tanks.

Bladder Pressure Tanks

This type of water tank uses two different chambers for water and compressed air. The inflating and deflating “bladder” activates the water pump by triggering a sensor when more water is required. If you’re worried about your water tank collapsing under pressure, this option is a good investment to make.

Air-Over-Water Pressure Tank

This type of well pressure tank has a simple, galvanized design consisting of one chamber for both water and pressurized air. The air pressure forces water out of the tank and into the opened access point. Although much larger in size, they hold a similar capacity to other tanks that don’t take up much space.

Diaphragm Pressure Tanks

This option also comes with two separate chambers, similar to the bladder pressure tank. Instead of a balloon-like design, it uses a rubber diaphragm permanently connected to the sides of the tank. The pump is shut off when the diaphragm presses against the air chamber, signaling the water level.

I recently bought a house and was referred to Arizona Pump Services by the previous owners since they had worked on the system in the past. Unfortunately they no longer come out to my area but they took the time to refer me to another great well company and even shared pertinent information about our system (from past work on it) with the other company to help us with our repairs. Thanks for your help!

Questions About Well Water Pressure Tanks?

Effective water tank installation is essential to the proper performance of your system. Below, you will find answers to frequent questions about our water tank services.

A pressure tank is a device that stores pressurized well water so that it enters your home plumbing at a consistent pressure.

The answer to this question depends on your system and preferences. While bladder style tanks work in many cases, we can make a better recommendation once we look at your system.

The installation depends on several factors such as the type and size of the tank. Working in a tight space may increase the time it takes for the installation, adding to the cost. We can provide a better estimate when you contact us.

Homes without water pressure tanks may experience inconsistent water pressure. Low water pressure can also make your well pump work harder, shortening its usable life.

Several symptoms point to pressure tank problems. These include:

  • Changes in water quality
  • Bubbles in water
  • Decreased water pressure
  • Increased electrical bills
  • Constant pump operation
